Most people who leave Taplio leave for one of four reasons: the price, AI posts that sound like everyone else's, worries about their LinkedIn account, or paying for features they never use. Where they go depends on which reason it was. Supergrow is the closest swap. AuthoredUp is for people who'd rather write their own posts. Buffer is for people who only need scheduling. And a plain AI chat tool is enough for some.
Taplio is still a strong tool, and plenty of people are happy with it. But if you're thinking about leaving, here's what other users say, and where they end up.
We read reviews on G2, Capterra, Trustpilot, and review blogs, plus what people post on Reddit and X. One warning first: a lot of the "Taplio review" articles online are written by competing tools. We only kept the complaints that show up again and again.
Taplio's plans, billed monthly (Taplio pricing):
| Plan | Monthly | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Starter | $39 | Scheduling, analytics, 250 AI credits a month |
| Growth | $69 | More AI, viral post ideas, team features |
| Pro | $199 | Unlimited AI, lead outreach tools |
Yearly billing brings these down to $32, $49, and $149 a month.
$39 isn't much for a full-time creator. But many people use Taplio mostly to write and schedule posts. For that job, $39 to $69 a month feels like a lot, since cheaper tools do the same thing.
This is the most common complaint. Taplio's AI learns from a big library of viral LinkedIn posts. That helps with structure. But many users say the drafts sound like every other LinkedIn post, and they spend a long time editing each one to sound like themselves.
That matters more now. LinkedIn has said it shows less of posts that read like low-effort AI content. Posts that sound like you do better.
On the lower plans, AI use is capped. Some users say they hit the limit mid-month and couldn't buy more without upgrading.
LinkedIn's rules ban browser extensions that automate actions like liking, commenting, or sending messages. Some of Taplio's engagement and outreach features run through a Chrome extension.
To be fair: we found no solid proof of anyone being banned just for scheduling or writing posts with Taplio. Most of the scary stories come from competitors. But some users don't want the risk at all, so they move to tools that only use LinkedIn's official connection, or that don't touch LinkedIn directly.
Taplio does a lot: writing, scheduling, analytics, a viral post library, comments, lead lists, and DMs. If you only use two of those, you're paying for the rest.
Some reviews mention renewals they didn't expect, or slow replies when trying to cancel. This isn't the most common complaint, but it comes up. If you're leaving, cancel under Settings, then Billing, before your renewal date. Taplio offers a refund within 30 days of a payment.
Supergrow does most of what Taplio does: AI writing, scheduling, a carousel maker, and analytics. Its "Postcast" feature interviews you and turns your answers into posts, so the ideas come from you, not a library.
AuthoredUp is a writing tool, not a ghostwriter. You get a better editor, previews of how your post looks on phone and desktop, a hook library, scheduling, and analytics.
If the main thing you used Taplio for was the calendar, Buffer does that for much less.
If you have YouTube videos, Reels, podcasts, or voice notes, Reshaper AI turns them into LinkedIn posts (and X, Threads, and Instagram posts). The ideas come from your own content, so the posts start out closer to how you talk.
Some people drop paid LinkedIn tools and just use an AI chat tool with a good prompt and a few of their own posts as examples. It costs about $20 a month, and you can use it for everything else too.
Taplio is still a good fit if:
If that's you, switching will probably cost you more time than it saves.
The most common reasons are the price, AI posts that sound generic, credit limits on the cheaper plans, worries about LinkedIn account safety, and paying for features they don't use.
It depends on why you're leaving. Supergrow is the closest all-in-one swap. AuthoredUp is best if you write your own posts. Buffer is cheapest if you only need scheduling.
We found no solid proof of accounts being banned just for writing or scheduling with Taplio. LinkedIn's rules do ban extensions that automate likes, comments, and messages, so the engagement and outreach features carry more risk than scheduling.
Yes, as of October 2026. The $39 Starter plan includes 250 AI credits a month. Unlimited AI is on the $199 Pro plan.
